Hazards

By its very nature, the Trail is a natural environment and in working to preserve and enhance the woodland and its bio diversity, and create a sense of freedom which is part of the charm and why many people come, there are natural hazards such as ponds, ditches, uneven ground, tree roots, insects, and poisonous plants.

You are entering a natural environment so depending on the time of year and conditions the trail may be dusty, muddy, wet, and slippery with uneven surfaces and trip hazards such as tree roots. There may also be wood camp fires, as well as natural play equipment.

Lighting is non-existent, or extremely limited along the trail, and can be dark under the tree canopy even on cloudy days in summer.

We want you to have an enjoyable experience. On arrival you will be pointed to the health and safety sign at the beginning of the trail.
